We're building a smart access solution that's already serving 5000 users – and we're just getting started. Our platform combines Bluetooth and NFC technology to transform how people access storage units, and we're on a mission to expand this into a full-featured SaaS platform with self-service capabilities and e-commerce features.
We're looking for a Backend Developer who can take ownership of integrations, build scalable solutions, and help us grow from a single-product application into a multi-tenant platform. You'll be joining at a pivotal moment: the foundation is solid, the users are there, and now it's time to build the future.
You'll be the backend specialist in a lean, growing team. Working alongside our frontend developer, you'll take charge of the server-side architecture, API integrations, and database design.
As our Backend Developer:
- You'll have real ownership over technical decisions and direct impact on a product that thousands of people use daily.
- You'll work closely with the Product Owner to refine the backlog, shape user stories, and ensure technical feasibility. This isn't a throw-it-over-the-wall kind of place – you'll be part of the conversation from idea to deployment, contributing your technical expertise to prioritize what matters and estimate what's realistic.
- You'll integrate with multiple security and building access providers through REST APIs and XML-based systems. These integrations are mission-critical – they're what let our users unlock doors and access their storage units. You'll need to think about reliability, error handling, and seamless data flow.
- You won't be maintaining legacy code forever. Yes, you'll work on our existing production app, but you'll also be building the next generation: expanding into self-service features, e-commerce capabilities, and a white-label SaaS model that scales.
What you'll do:
- Build and maintain .NET backend services with Entity Framework and MS SQL
- Design and implement integrations with security provider APIs and XML-based systems
- Architect scalable database structures that support multi-tenant SaaS features
- Work closely with the Product Owner to refine backlog items and provide technical input on feature planning
- Collaborate with the frontend developer to deliver end-to-end features
- Ensure reliability and performance for 5000 active users
- Help shape our technical roadmap as we scale the team
- Contribute to building a deployment pipeline that enables customer-specific configurations
What we're looking for:
- Strong experience with .NET (C#) and Entity Framework
- Solid understanding of MS SQL and database design
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs
- Comfortable working with XML-based integrations
- Understanding of authentication, security, and access control systems
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of backend architecture
- Good communication skills and comfort discussing technical constraints with non-technical stakeholders
- Bonus: Experience with Bluetooth/NFC protocols, React Native, or multi-tenant architecture.
